The Invisible Elephant in the Room--Covid
Can we take a minute to talk about Covid? No? I know, I’m tired of it too. But it’s important that we get this out of the way. Firstly, I am never going to ask you about your vaccine status. It’s not my place. I am not a healthcare provider. I am not going to be up in your mouth--ever. But if I were, I’d wear a mask. Actually, let's go back a step. I will not be up in your mouth. Or nose. I typically use my 35 mm lens for portraits and families. That means I might need to be ~3 feet away for a singular person’s headshot. But you’re getting your photo taken, so you’re not going to wear a mask. So, that leaves….me. I will wear a mask. I will always wear a mask inside for photo shoots and any place that it’s required. I will leave it up to the client if that want me to wear a mask the entire time for outdoor photo shoots or just for close-ups. Although I am vaccinated, my older children are in public school and aren’t able to be vaccinated yet. So our exposure is moderate. Whatever your stance is on Covid, masking, and vaccines, I will treat you with respect and I will deliver beautiful images to you. I will also use my best judgment and choose to mask based on the situation and comfort level of my clients. I do ask though, if you’ve been directly exposed to Covid, give me a heads up. If you have tested positive for Covid and will not be done with your quarantine by the time of our shoot, let’s reschedule as soon as it’s safe.
I'm tired of Covid, honestly. But I feel it's best to be transparent about the issue, and I hope that you will be too.
