Sweater Weather {Boudoir Photos} 2025

In winter of 2024, I offered my first 'Sweater Weather Boudoir Photo' mini sessions. It was so much fun documenting women and showcasing their strength and femininity, I decided to make Sweater Weather sessions an annual offering, here's a quick recap of the 2025 sessions I dub the term 'Sweater Weather' to be like a boudoir-light session. Nothing too scandalous or too risqué, but still alluring and sexy. Women bring in a cozy sweater, flannel, or a blanket and wrap up in them over their favorite mug of coffee. All the photos are Facebook (and Grandma) safe! The term 'boudoir' is being somewhat policed online, but it just means 'in the bedroom' and women are typically dressed in lingerie.

This year I rented a gorgeous boudoir studio in Clive for the mini sessions. It had several different shooting areas, but the bed and the cozy leather chair were definitely fan favorites. The large standalone mirror added a fun depth to the images by shooting into it and capturing the women's reflections. This year women were able to choose 8 images to display in a gorgeous custom accordion book. Most of the women chose to gift the image to their partner for Valentine's Day, but a few chose to keep it for themselves, as a daily reminder that they are beautiful and worthy of love.

Women choose these sessions for a variety of reasons, to celebrate a health journey, a new relationship (or leaving an unhealthy one), to document this time in their life, or to give to a partner. Their reasons aren't necessary for me to know, but I do promise that their book will be back in time for Valentine's Day, in case they chose to gift it to someone special.

The wheels are already starting to turn regarding what set up I can offer for Sweater Weather 2026! I have had so many women reach out to me sad that they missed the 2025 event. Make sure you are signed up to be on my mailing list, so you don't miss any of the mini session announcements.
