One thing that I am without doubt, is a supportive friend. I am not the girl that is going to go and get drinks with you on a Saturday night or attend every baby shower or bachelorette party, but I am going to throw my full support behind you when you do big things--hell, even small things! So when my friend, Stephanie published her debut novel, I did what I do best, I celebrated her. And I did it how I do it best. Cheesecake? Not this time. With branding photos!
Steph came over with her box of books and gave me an autographed copy of Mistaken Identity. We showcased her as an author as well as her books.
I have known Steph for several years and the entire time, I have considered her a writer. I have known that writing was more than just a hobby, but rather her passion. We have bonded over our love affair of Young Adult literature and authors such as Rainbow Rowell and John Green. We even joke that we need to road trip to Omaha and become best friends with Rainbow. Seriously, if you have not read her work, dooooo it! Eleanor and Park is one of my very favorite works of fiction and I am still chasing that high of reading it for the first time--absolute magic!
I've photographed the Caffrey family several times--I even wrote about one session on the blog from two and half years ago!
Steph had her big debut book launch tonight at one of Tuesday at one of her favorite local establishments. Sugar Grove Goods was hosting the book launch. Sugar Grove Goods is a family-owned local business that serves beverages and sells local makers' goods. I have not visited there, but from the way Stephanie was talking about it, it sounds like my boys and I need to make a road trip to Dallas Center to check it out.
Mistaken Identify is the first book in the London Detective Agency books by Stephanie. I am counting down until bedtime so I can read this closed door suspense romance book without the constant interruption of my children I'm proud of you, Steph! I am always going to be cheering you on for following your dreams. Also, Rainbiow, if you're reading this, we're serious about the BFF thing. :D
